Holy Week | Day 7: Resurrection Day
He Is Risen – The Day Everything Changed
The stone was rolled away—not so Jesus could get out, but so we could see in.
The grave is empty.
The curse is broken.
The enemy is defeated.
On this day, Resurrection Day, the entire story of humanity took a turn. What once seemed like a tragic ending became the greatest beginning. The resurrection of Jesus Christ is not just a chapter in history—it is the victory that rewrites eternity for every believer.
In Matthew 28, we see the women approach the tomb with grief and spices, expecting death. Instead, they encounter an angel who declares the impossible:
“He is not here, for He has risen, as He said.” — Matthew 28:6
In John 20, Mary Magdalene stands outside the tomb weeping. But it’s in the moment Jesus calls her by name that everything shifts:
“Jesus said to her, ‘Mary.’ She turned and said to Him in Aramaic, ‘Rabboni!’ (which means Teacher).” — John 20:16
Jesus rose to give us what we could never earn—freedom from sin, victory over death, and new life in Him.
What Does Resurrection Mean for Us?
Sin No Longer Has the Final Word
The cross paid the debt. The resurrection proved it cleared. You are not chained to shame, guilt, addiction, or your past.“For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace.” — Romans 6:14
We Are Made New
The resurrection isn’t just Jesus’ story—it becomes ours. We are raised with Him into new life.“If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” — 2 Corinthians 5:17
Victory Is Ours in Christ
Not temporary victory. Not “hopefully someday” victory. Resurrection is present tense. Jesus lives, and so does His power within us.“But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” — 1 Corinthians 15:57
Today’s Reflection: Worship the Risen King
Celebrate today like the war has been won—because it has.
Praise like the chains are off—because they are.
Live like you’ve been raised from death—because you have.
This is not a holiday—it’s a holy declaration: Jesus is alive.
Your identity, your freedom, your purpose—all of it is anchored in this truth.
Take time today to worship. Sing loudly. Pray boldly. Thank Him deeply.
Go for a walk and talk to the Father. Lift your hands and lift your eyes.
Let joy erupt in your soul today.
Challenge to the Steadfast Sons
Live a resurrected life.
Don’t go back to the tomb. You weren’t made for graves.
You were made for glory—to walk in the power of Christ’s risen life.
Make a list today of the things you’ve left in the tomb.
Then write down how you’re walking in freedom.
