It's Time: A Call to Move

Life is full of waiting. We wait for the right moment, the perfect opportunity, the green light that tells us it’s time to move forward. But too often, waiting turns into hesitation, and hesitation turns into complacency. We find ourselves trapped in cycles of delay, stuck in the comfort of indecision, and unwilling to step into the hard things God has called us to do.

But the truth is, it’s time. It’s time to leave behind passivity and hesitation. It’s time to step forward in faith, to walk in obedience, and to answer the call that God has placed on our lives. This isn’t about reckless ambition or impulsive decisions; it’s about being men who hear God’s voice and move when He calls.

The Damage of Passivity and Hesitation

Passivity is a slow killer. It keeps us from growing, from leading, and from truly experiencing the fullness of the life God has for us. The enemy thrives in hesitation—because when we hesitate, we give room for doubt, fear, and distractions to creep in.

Throughout Scripture, we see men who suffered the consequences of hesitation. When God called Moses to lead Israel out of Egypt, Moses hesitated and made excuses (Exodus 3-4). When Saul was told to wait for Samuel before making a sacrifice, he acted in fear and rushed ahead, ultimately losing his kingdom (1 Samuel 13). But then we see men like Joshua, who, when God commanded him to cross the Jordan, didn’t wait—he moved forward in obedience (Joshua 1:10-11).

There is a pattern here: hesitation often leads to disobedience, but bold obedience leads to blessing.

It’s Time to Stop Making Excuses

James 4:17 (KJV) - 'Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.'

We all have reasons we tell ourselves why we’re not ready.

  • "I need more time to prepare."

  • "I don’t have everything figured out."

  • "I’m not good enough, strong enough, smart enough."

  • "I’m too busy with other things."

  • "I’ll start once things calm down."

But what if the perfect time will never come? What if the excuses are simply another way to keep us comfortable?

The reality is, God doesn’t call us when we feel ready—He calls us when He knows it’s time. And when He calls, our responsibility isn’t to weigh the risks or analyze every outcome. It’s to move.

It’s Time to Pursue, Prepare, and Be Intentional

Colossians 3:23 (KJV) - 'And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;'

2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV) - 'Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.'

Saying "it’s time" doesn’t mean changing everything overnight. Instead, it means:

  • Pursuing God with intentionality—not just knowing about Him but knowing Him deeply through prayer, fasting, and studying His Word.

  • Preparing our hearts, minds, and bodies—because a man who wants to lead must be disciplined in all areas of life.

  • Moving forward in holiness—turning from sin, cutting off destructive habits, and living in obedience.

  • Being intentional about relationships—leading our families, serving our brothers in Christ, and pouring into others with wisdom and love.

  • Breaking out of hesitation and stagnancy—whether that’s answering a call to ministry, leading a Bible study, stepping into a leadership role, or finally addressing the sins that have been kept in the dark for too long.

The Immediate Call Out of Sin

Hebrews 12:1 (KJV) - 'Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,'

Romans 6:12 (KJV) - 'Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.'

Some things take time. Growth is a process, and discipline is built daily. But there is one thing that must happen immediately: stepping out of the sin that entangles us.

The enemy wants you to believe that you have time. That you can wait to address the areas of sin in your life. But the reality is that every day spent in compromise is another day given to the enemy.

It’s time to stop saying, "I’ll fight this tomorrow." The time to fight is now. The time to surrender is now. The time to lay it all before Christ and say, "I’m done with this," is NOW.

Moving Forward in Faith

Proverbs 3:5-6 (KJV) - 'Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.'

Philippians 1:6 (KJV) - 'Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:'

God isn’t looking for perfect men. He’s looking for willing men. Men who will step into the battle, even when they feel unqualified. Men who will trust that if God has called them, He will equip them.

It’s time to make that decision. It’s time to lead. It’s time to follow through with the calling God has placed on your life.

No more waiting.

No more hesitation.

No more excuses.

It’s time.
